The Suffering of Grief

nothing in my power can take away the pain you are feeling and it pains me to know you are suffering.

if I were to remove all the darkness from your heart in this instant we might not recall the vastness and mighty power of your love and devotion. one need not fear the heartache. i believe each moment of grief we experience is a holy offering to our Divine Source and those we love. it is a conscious connection to your soul’s deepest part, a longing desire to continue loving and being loved. i trust this process to take you to a transcendent place that knows you are still loving and being loved. your heart will trust this because love rests in Truth and has no bounds. there is no end to their love for you, nor shall there be end to your love for them. the beautiful paradox of this world persists.

yet still, I rejoice because I know that great loss is not possible without great love. I rejoice that you cultivate a great determination to love and be loved, despite knowing in daring to do so that you accept the price of loss. i rejoice that you knew, loved, and cared for this incredible creature. i am grateful you have this heart which cares deeply and openly. it is a precious gift to be surrounded by those willing to be present, experience the moment in all its fullness, and brave the vulnerability of truly seeing and being seen by others. i am constantly inspired by your compassion to reflect this back to yourself and others.

no, I cannot change this suffering, yet still I can be present with you through it. there is strength in falling apart; there is solace in moving forward. in all the places you visit on this journey, I pray you know you never have to walk alone.
